A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

BlockDash is a simple-graphics 2D game filled with action. Run, shoot, run, dash. just make sure you don't reload near those enemies. They can dash at you as well.

Movements are already explained inside the game, but here, I wrote it anyways to make the page look more formal.

For Windows:

  • Download either  "BlockDash_Win32.zip" or "BlockDash_Win64.zip". The 32 bit version should run on most machines.
  • Unzip the file & run "BlockDash.exe"

For Linux & MacOS:

  • Download "BlockDash.AppImage", it should run on most distributions.

Universal (.love file):

  • Make sure you have Love2D installed, if not, install it here: love2d.org/
  • Download "BlockDash.love", and click on it to run. If it doesn't work or asks for a program to open the file, verify that you have Love2D in PATH or drag and drop the .love file to "love.exe", which can be downloaded by clicking "32-Bit Zipped".

(Failed to post on the love2d forum so I'm putting it here)

It's really rough around the edges but I think you did a great job dude for your first game! I would suggest a larger, more visible health display. Maybe a bar or a different color. It's also pretty fast paced and difficult to tell if you're moving away until an enemy pops onto screen. I would suggest some meteors or stationary objects to help visualize movement. Overall, congratulations on your first game!

Thank you so much for this comment. It's really great for people to criticise my game.

Also I'm aware that the UI of the game is non scalable thus making it difficult to see in larger displays, I'll try to find a solution to that ASAP. And about that visualization, I didn't have enough time to release so I just added some stars to help player see its movement. Although I'll keep that in mind, maybe shooting stars may look good!
